Homecenter Observability
Visibility into what keeps sales moving. For a home improvement leader, monitoring digital operations requires understanding how each channel behaves, beyond simply detecting failures. Learn more about business observability and real-time decisions.
THE CHALLENGE
Homecenter needed to move from basic monitoring to comprehensive observability across Java/Tomcat applications, middleware, mobile apps, e-commerce and in-store self-service kiosks. Blind spots in the omnichannel journey or logistics integrations translate directly into lost sales. There was also a financial challenge: monitoring tool costs were difficult to forecast, affecting OPEX planning.

Our approach
An extension of the technology team
Wigilabs acted as a technical partner and a strategic link between the vendor and business needs. Following an infrastructure assessment, we defined a strategic New Relic implementation, prioritizing components according to their contribution to sales: APM instrumentation in the client's environment, end-to-end tracking of the e-commerce process, performance measurement for self-service kiosks, support for critical applications, and ongoing management of data consumption and licenses.
WHAT WE ACHIEVED
Results that speak for themselves
Recurring technical sessions accelerated diagnosis and enabled continuous performance tracking, shifting from reactive responses to proactive incident management. Visibility into the digital purchase flow and self-service kiosks enabled data-driven decisions. Accurate license sizing restored control over a previously unpredictable expense.
Homecenter continues to operate the solution, with ongoing visibility into the user experience across web, mobile and physical stores.

The impact
- Faster incident diagnosis and response
- End-to-end visibility into the e-commerce process
- Measured performance of self-service kiosks
- Financial control over consumption and licenses
