VIDEO GAMES

VIDEO GAMES | Google Stadia, the innovative video game platform designed by Google.

Google announced and promised the world a revolutionary video gaming platform. It’s a service that will allow streaming games, and it’s unlike anything seen on other platforms to date.

At a press conference, Google announced that “the future of gaming isn’t a console,” but rather a streaming platform that prioritizes maximum accessibility above all other considerations. As they explain, it’s a service that will allow you to play all kinds of blockbusters on any screen, from mobile phones to televisions and, of course, computers.

Apparently, it works by running everything through Google Chrome, and data is uploaded and downloaded through Google’s servers at speeds that, according to their claims, won’t cause latency issues even in the most demanding multiplayer experiences.

“ Everything will be instant, even from a YouTube trailer, once you press the PLAY button, we will be in the game in five seconds.”

Special Stadia controller

As we mentioned earlier, Stadia doesn’t require a console to operate. However, the company did release a special controller that enhances the gaming experience. Most notably, this controller features a dedicated button for capturing images and game content that can be shared directly with other users. Furthermore, it includes a Google Assistant button, which allows players to activate various service functions using the controller itself. Consequently, this integration provides a more seamless and interactive gaming experience.

The controller features direct Wi-Fi connectivity to Google’s servers, not to your device. Consequently, this ensures minimal latency gaming.

Moreover, when stuck on levels, Google Assistant provides helpful tips and tutorial videos. Thus, it transforms how you interact with games.

Initially, Stadia supports Chromecast, Cast-enabled TVs, mobile devices, and Chrome browsers. Currently, it delivers 4K HDR at 60fps, yet promises future 120fps+ and 8K capabilities.

Ultimately, could Stadia become a live streaming gaming platform? What do you think? 🤔.
